Could there be anything more fantastic than having a girls’ night in and celebrating the new TWIX® Bites unwrapped candy?

And taking them on a first looksie tour at your new home?

On the same day your cookbooks arrive?

Yeah, I don’t think so. This week is a delicious one!

When I first joined the Baton Rouge Junior League one of the mentors made a comment like “take a look around the room, the girls you get to know this first year will become life long friends regardless of your future placements” and it really didn’t resonate to me that what she was saying was absolutely true of the girl on my left, and the girl sitting across from me.

You can catch Milo photobombing in the right corner standing in for Courtney who is the final member of our Fab Five group but out of state for our gathering.

Heading into our 3rd year, none of us are on the same committees so we see each other less frequently than we did that first year but we’ve come up with somewhat of a monthly house hop that is turning out to be lots of fun.

It all began last month when Courtney (the one not in the photo) had us over to show off her way adorable home she recently purchased and renovated.

That same week, Brian and I closed on the home we built so I volunteered to go next and have everyone over.

And it just so happened that TWIX® Bites had a little something to celebrate as well.

Now bite size and packaged unwrapped these little guys are seriously addictive. They’re located on the candy aisle at your local Wal-Mart.

You know the candy aisle. The one that lures you in and whispers sweet nothing…..”bite size, bite size, you love candy that’s bite sized”.

That’s one dangerous aisle.

Rather than just tell you to go out and eat them straight out of the bag, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing, I thought I’d show you how to make this TWIX Rum Cake.

Rum Cake with TWIX topping #shop #eatmorebites

That’s right. I said RUM. And TWIX. In the same sentence.

Mmmmm…….

Start by spraying your bundt cake pan well with non-stick spray and set aside.

Chop up some pecans and Twix Bites and sprinkle them into the bottom of the pan.

Then, gather up your wet ingredients to mix along with your secret ingredient.

Coconut rum.

Twix Rum Cake Ingredients

I forgot to take a photo of the wet ingredients, or of the cake in the pan so you’ll have to visualize dumping the wet ingredients into your bundt pan.

I also forgot to show you the crystallized sugar that you’re going to pour over the cake immediately as it comes out of the oven.

I blame the rum.

And running around trying to get ready to show off my new house, i.e. cleaning the floors.

I also made this here TWIX Cheese Ball served with graham crackers.  Insanity.

TWIX Cheese Ball

TWIX® Cream Cheese Ball
Recipe Type: Dessert
Author: Aimee
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 10
Ingredients
  • 1 bag TWIX Bites, or about 12-15 miniature Twix bars (<<< guesstimate)
  • 8 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
Instructions
  1. Chop the entire bag of TWIX bites into even smaller size pieces; set aside. Beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Add the confectioners’ sugar and brown sugar gradually, beating constantly. Stir in about 25% of the chopped TWIX pieces. Chill, covered, for 2 hours. Shape into a ball. ***Due to the obscene amount of Louisiana humidity, at this point your ball will be sticky and messy because it didn’t set properly. Use cling wrap and shape your ball, otherwise it will be a hot mess***. Double the cling wrap and place your ball into the freezer for about another hour. Once firm, unwrap the cling wrap, reshape if necessary and place the ball onto the remaining TWIX pieces. Apply TWIX pieces to all exposed areas of the ball, filling holes as you go. If not serving immediately, place in refrigerator. Serve chilled with graham crackers.

You may be thinking “did she only feed her friends TWIX?”. And I would say, “is there something wrong with that?!?!”.

But the answer is no, I feed them actual food, too.
