Diet Coke “It’s Mine” Inspired Gift Basket

I am excited to partner with Coca Cola for today’s Diet Coke “It’s Mine” Inspired Gift Basket idea. While this post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser, all opinions are mine alone. #MyFavoriteIsAllMine #CollectiveBias

You guys, have you SEEN the new Diet Coke “It’s Mine” glass bottles?! I was strolling through Albertson’s for things completely unrelated and bam, the colorful array of glass bottles called out to me and all but demanded I purchase one, or two….or ten.

With no two bottles alike, narrowing down your selections is not easy. I tried to go with similar color combinations, but each one I grabbed was more unique than the one before. So I kept grabbing, sorting, trying to group them into like kind but my assortment just kept growing and growing and my buggy got fuller and fuller.

I knew immediately when I spotted the bottles that I wanted to create a colorful birthday gift basket for my Diet Coke loving friend. Recently, I have jumped aboard the adult coloring book trend that is sweeping the nation, and while my reasons for needing some decompress time is an entirely separate post, I knew I wanted to incorporate some adult coloring fun for her into my gift basket as well.

But the more I looked at those bottles, the more I thought “you know what would be fun? Some matching sugar cookies!!”. Please, tell me you see something and then think of how you’ll turn into a snack? Let me know that I haven’t lost my marbles, standing there in the Albertson’s shopping aisle, contemplating how I’ll make matching cookies?

Scratch that. If I’m crazy, just let me continue my crazy ways thinking that I’m normal.

So, here’s what I did.

I baked some sugar cookies (straight out the sugar cookie tube, y’all), then grouped two Diet Coke “It’s Mine” bottles that had similar colors and got to work preparing my royal icing. Want a secret for easy royal icing? Buy the mix! I don’t have the patience for mixing meringue powder and getting the mixture just right. I pick up a bag of royal icing mix from my local party supply store and simply add a bit of water. Works like a charm.

I focused on the top part of the bottles only because well, the entire bottle would’ve meant about 10 different colors. I drew the line with 4.

The key to decorating cookies is organization. And let me be clear for a moment, I am far from a cookie decorating expert. I watch those short videos on Facebook and think “look how easy it is to decorate those intricate picnic scenes complete with a parade of ants”! But reality is, I know that I need to stick to polka dots. Designs that are super duper easy!

The dots on my Coca Cola bottles were speaking my language.

I got to work attempting to recreate the designs on the bottles. They’re far from perfect, but look how fun they are paired with the bottles and headed to their coloring book gift basket!

I have text messaged no less than 5 Coca Cola loving friends instructing them to run, not walk to purchase some of the Diet Coke “It’s Mine” glass bottles. Obviously, anything this festive and fun has a shelf life and the bottles are limited edition and only available while supplies last.

I found mine at my neighborhood Albertson’s on the soft drink aisle. I have heard that some locations might have a special display, so be on the lookout for one at your store. I bet the display is super colorful!

I’m telling you they are really, really pretty in person!

Will you be swinging by to grab some Diet Coke “It’s Mine” bottles? Trying your hand at adult coloring? Spending your afternoon matching your cookies to your drinks?

I threw a lot at you today, but don’t forget to enter your selfie and win yourself a trip!!
