Mason Jar Grasshopper Pies
These Mason Jar Grasshopper Pies were originally posted in 2017 but continue to be a St. Patrick’s Day favorite year after year.
Hi, friends! You found me at my new internet “home”! Before we get to the Mason Jar Grasshopper Pies, I want to be sure to extend a warm welcome and thank you for following me over here.
It’s been 5 years since I joined the blogging world. As you can imagine, a lot has changed and evolved during that time. My old site (don’t worry, those links haven’t gone anywhere) was my name for a couple of reasons. For one, I could never really laser focus my niche. Could never really come up with a clever non-name. And honestly, it was just easier to do it that way because a wise woman once said “regardless of what your blog name is, also purchase your name domain. You never know if you’re the next Martha, and if you don’t buy it someone else will just so you can’t”. At the time that seemed so ridiculous. Why on earth would anyone be so calculating to go through that trouble? And then I realized, it’s the day of the internet and that’s exactly what happened to my Traveling Apron swap…..several times, actually so it could certainly happen in other situations.
I won’t bore you with the details of why I chose Southern From Scratch, you can find lots of that information on the About Me page. But plain and simple, short and sweet I want to shift my focus solely on recipes that have proven the test of time, (mostly) free of processed junk, and the very ones that speak to the heart and soul of Southern hospitality. It’s both an honor and privilege to share recipes with you, and I want them to be the very best. But don’t you worry, there’s a Lagniappe category for everything “extra” that I want to share non-food related. Old habits are hard to break!
There are lots of sites devoted to shortcuts and fancy’ing up packaged treats. I invite you to visit those when you’re pressed for time. I want to be the site you come to when you have an extra 20 minutes to partake in homemade. An extra 5 minutes or so to hear a story about why you should share a treat with a neighbor. I want to be the place you come to when you need reassurance that it’s perfectly ok, and quite honestly encouraged, to slow down and sip lemonade on the front porch. Life is too short to run around like a chicken with its head cut off ALL the time.
Life is also too short not to buy the darn cookies, processed or not (see how we are going to compromise on this here site) from the cute Girl Scout knocking on your door.
Plus, you’ll need them for these Mason Jar Grasshopper Pies.
Similar to my Grasshopper Pie recipe, we’re going to break these babies down and serve them up individual style. We have St. Patrick’s Day coming up, and these little guys would be perfect for an indulgently green treat. Skip the green food coloring. No one wants green teeth.
I mean, how much cuter can it get?
And if you’re still not convinced, make the pie. It’s easy and delicious!
And before I get to say it again, THANK YOU for continuing on this journey with me. I’ve made so many new friends these past few years and it’s truly made the experience all the more sweeter.
If there’s something specific you’d like to see, be sure to comment or drop me an email!
It looks delicious! I will have to try it soon.
It is soooo delicious! The Grasshopper Pie is easily a top 5 for me. 🙂
Love the new site!
Thank you so much!!! 🙂
