Air Fryer Crawfish Cakes
Need something to do with leftover crawfish? Try adding these Air Fryer Crawfish Cakes to your post-crawfish boil recipe repertoire. Paired with a homemade Remoulade Sauce these cakes put a Louisiana twist on a classic crab cake recipe.

We are in the peak of crawfish season down here in the seafood mecca that is Louisiana and as such I’ve been inspired to utilize my Air Fryer for more than just reheating leftovers. These little patties of deliciousness aka crawfish cakes have me wondering why on earth I’ve ever ordered crab/crawfish cakes in a restaurant when they are ridiculously easy to make at home.
These Air Fryer Crawfish Cakes are similar to traditional crab cakes and when air fried, so very easy to prepare! Serve them alone with a homemade remoulade sauce, on a bed of pasta, or as a sandwich just as you would a crab cake. The hardest part of the entire process will be setting some crawfish aside at your next boil.
Some tips for preparing for making this recipe:
- For the best results, the remoulade sauce needs time to meld so make it ahead of time.
- Similarly, if you can let the patties “rest” even for 30 minutes, the richer the flavor.
- Use olive oil for a healthier version if not using an air fryer.

Notes
You can eat these crawfish cakes as you would a crab cake, on thier own. On a sandwich bun, or over pasta. A truly versatile recipe.

No air fryer? No problem! Simply heat 2-3 Tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
Place crawfish cakes in the skillet and cook until golden brown and beginning to crisp (approximately 2-3 minutes on each side).
Once cooked, remove crawfish cakes to a paper towel lined paper plate and allow to drain well.
These crawfish cakes are so versatile that you can enjoy on their own, on a sandwich bun, or over a bed of pasta. You could even shrink the size of your patties and serve them as appetizers.
