Peanut Butter Molasses Football Cookies for Dogs
As seen in the inRegister magazine September issue include your pups this football season with these Peanut Butter Molasses Football Cookies for Dogs that are seriously cute and wholesome, too.
This season will mean more folks are watching college football at home than heading to the stadium, so why not have a little snack on hand for your canine crew to enjoy as they help you cheer on your team to victory?
My crew goes absolutely bonkers over homemade treats. They love them and I love making them, too because I can feel good about what I’m giving them knowing exactly what has gone into making them.
Minimal ingredients and nothing artificial make for happy pups and a happy fur-mom.
These cookies are not our first rodeo with testing out exactly what my crew prefers.
These Pumpkin cookies are a blog favorite for dogs with sensitive digestive systems and these Frozen Yogurt Popsicles are a special treat when it’s so dang hot outside.
I’ve made a “taco” cake for Murph’s birthday and a stack of “woofles” for my former foster girls, Farrah and Darling.
Why I haven’t started a treat company yet, I do not know. Maybe it’s time.

Peanut Butter Molasses Football Cookies (FOR DOGS!)
Tail wagging and wholesome, your will go crazy for these Peanut Butter and Molasses football shaped cookies.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups oat flour (or whole wheat flour)
- 2 Tbsp. molasses
- 2 Tbsp. peanut butter
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. melted coconut oil
- Plain Greek yogurt (for frosting)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, molasses, peanut butter and melted coconut oil with ½ cup water. Allow mixture to rest for 15 minutes.
Turn out dough between 2 pieces of parchment paper. Use a rolling pin to roll into a ¼-inch-thick rectangle. Using a football-shaped cookie cutter, cut out cookies. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with a Silpat or parchment paper and bake until firm, about 10 to 12 minutes for small cookies or up to 20 minutes for larger cutouts or thicker-rolled cookies.
Transfer cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely. Add ¼ cup Greek yogurt “frosting” to a small piping bag and create football laces.
Place cookies in refrigerator for yogurt to harden.
Notes
Store leftovers in the refrigerator if not consuming right away.
These football cookies for dogs are made with a mini football cookie cutter (that I made myself….more on that, soon) you’ll want to keep these Peanut Butter Molasses Football Cookies separate from your human snacks. They’re so cute, they’ll easily be mistaken for human treats and just because they’re human-grade, your guests will likely find them bland.
But not this guy.
He was as polite as he could be pausing to take a quick photo before the delicious molasses smell wafting from the cookies had him ready to dive in. Peanut butter is his absolute favorite so the combination of the two had him hardly able to contain his excitement.
Taste tested and Milo approved. Photo proof just in case you needed it.
