If you’re here and taking a look around, you’re probably noticing a few changes. The site got a little makeover (again). It has taken a little bit of trial and error to find what works the best for me, so I apologize in advance for the slew of changes. I think we’re finally good to go, and other than minor tweaks here and there, what you see is what you get for the next 365 days.
Whoa! Did she just say 365 days? Yes, I did.
Project: Aimee is my challenge to myself to write, share, post, rant and rave every. single. day. To be honest, I won’t be posting every single day. I’ll be scheduling posts for Saturdays, and Sundays you’ll be post free. Sundays are sacred around here. I get my husband all to myself, and our routine goes a little something like this….church, lunch, antique shopping. Repeat.
It’s simple. It’s easy. It’s my favorite. So technically, you’ll be getting 313 posts from me. But Project: Aimee 313 just doesn’t have the same ring as blogging 365.
Why am I doing this? Because I’m crazy, I guess. I love a challenge. My former job came to be because an ex-boyfriend had the nerve to tell me I “couldn’t handle” his job. So I did. For over 5 years. But then I married someone who believes I can handle anything.
I feel like if I hold myself accountable to each and every one of you, I’m more likely to accomplish my task. And quite simply, long gone are the days when people journal on paper. Blogs have become the real life version of your personal diary and while I won’t be sharing every last detail of my life with you, I will be sharing enough to look back at this little blog of mine, 365 days from now, and say “wow, look at all you accomplished”, or perhaps even “wow, you led one seriously boring year”.
Here’s a fun little collage of how I got to the place where I currently am for any of you just joining the fun.
Here’s the Cliff Notes version of my life:
Girl has fabulous job traveling the country with a major insurance company. Girl’s life is that job. Girl ends up dating her best friend. Girl agrees to marry him. Girl buys a dog with boy. Girl becomes an SEC football wife. Girl decides she doesn’t want to travel all the time. Girl quits her job. Girl heads to NYC to the Martha Stewart studio. Girl heads back to NYC to get styled by THE Tim Gunn. Girl thinks she wants to be a party planner. Girl decides that’s not exactly what she wants to do. Girl has discovered baking. Girl has caused household members to gain weight because of all the baking. Girl co-founded a baking website to share this passion with the world.
Girl has no clue who she wants to be when she grows up, but writes a blog in hopes of figuring it out.
In the next 365 days girl will renovate a once bachelor pad. Girl will sell boys’ house/bachelor pad. Girl & boy will buy a larger house. Girl will have boys’ baby, or at least have a baby in the warmer. And maybe buy another Lucy. Girl will possibly solve all the world’s problems……..in 365 days or less, and girl is gonna share it all with you.
PS: The fun baking site you’re going to want to frequent is Mixing Mavens.
5 friends, 5 mixers, recipes and flour flying. What’s not to love?
PSSS: I am really glad you’re here!
